Transmogrify represents seven years of artistic evolution – from apologetic hobbyist to confident creator who refuses to follow conventional paths. These works embody transformation in every sense: technique, philosophy, and presentation all underwent dramatic alteration to reach this point.
What you’ll see in this exhibition isn’t art that seeks universal approval. Instead, these pieces demand individual contemplation. They reward the discerning viewer who’s willing to engage with work that deliberately challenges expectations. Some might call them grotesque, others humorous – both reactions would align perfectly with the transmogrification process.
It’s quite remarkable to reflect on this journey from that 2019 exhibition at the Botanist to where we are now. Back then, I was essentially “crashing out” pieces with limited variety.
Now, there’s structure behind the apparent chaos, reason behind every mark. The reckless energy remains – that’s fundamental to who I am as an artist – but it’s been harnessed and directed with genuine purpose.
