Welcome to Stiffy Art, a home studio on a quiet road in Startford-upon-Avon. Jon Stiff, the artist behind Stiffy Art, is passionate about both drawing and painting. His paintings are abstract, full of colour and expression, whereas his pencil drawings are detail orientated, focused and realistic. These works reflect Jon’s dual personality with his boyish humour and corporate ‘head’. Stiffy Art was born out of this boyish humour and mischief but has grown into a serious art which is produced with love and passion.
Stiffy Art produces paintings which are inspired by numerous abstract artists, e.g. Jackson Pollock and Gerhard Richter. He also gained inspiration from Bridget Riley and her op-art. Stiffy Art style is eclectic and sometimes his paintings can be perceived as ‘accidental’, however, this is far from the truth. He meticulously plans the composition of each artwork, but also giving enough freedom for the viewer to have their own interpretations.
The studio is open from Saturday 18.06 till Sunday 3.07.2022, 10am – 6pm.
