October saw the completion of two art commissions placed by a client in Thailand. Simply not resisting the invitation to deliver I embarked on a surprised delivery in person.
Adorned in tattoo’s head to foot and resembling ‘dog the bounty hunter’ I was the centre of attention from fellow travellers, customs and immigration! After manoeuvring through Bangkok Airport l enjoyed a six day traditional Thai welcome in Udon Thani.
The culture, food and people are simply a world apart from West Europeans (literally!). Many occasions I was to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street markets the variety of foods and moreover fruits were breath taking. Language was never a barrier as I quickly picked up the basic pleasantries. The most memorable for me was how genuinely polite Thai people are.
The smells, noise and colours were intoxicating and one experience that will last forever is to have taste a lush a ‘fresh’ coconut! Suffice to state the two abstract compositions safely delivered.
